Seasoned credit professional needed to join close-knit, highly successful buy-side team. The team is responsible for managing leveraged loan, high yield bond, and credit opportunity portfolios in mutual funds, CLO's, and institutional accounts

Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous fundamental credit analysis on below investment grade corporate debt issuers
• Thoroughly understand assigned industries and the investment implications of underlying trends
• Make relative value decisions leading to out-performance
• Writing of credit proposals, which include comprehensive financial analysis, company and sector review and off-balance sheet analysis
• Completing long-term projections to support the internal deal teams
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with issuer company management and the sell-side
• Perform other analysis and assignments to further team goals

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related, CFA, MBA, and/or ACA would be advantageous
• Relevant middle market buy-side or leveraged finance experience
• Experience in fundamental credit research on below investment grade corporate debt
• Strong understanding of credit agreements, subordinated debt documents and high yield indentures
• Superb modelling, writing, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Excellent Excel and PC skills, incorporating financial spreadsheets and financial modelling/profiling
• Solid work ethic with a passion for the credit markets
• Outstanding oral and written communications skills
• Ability to work both independently and as a team player
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and strong leadership skills
