Our Client is a Melbourne based educational institute who are looking for a Systems Administrator/Programmer to provide operational support for existing SAN and NAS storage and backup infrastructure.
The incumbent will play a key role in the provision of a customer focused support team, and will be involved in several projects at any given time.
More specifically you will be responsible for:
- Installation and configuration of software products
- Design, compile, modify, test and install new and existing software packages
- Monitor, tune and maintain systems functions
- Perform Security Audits
Required Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in a computer related discipline and extensive practical experience in computer systems support
- Ability to work on large IT projects, as a member of a team and/or as project leader
- Understanding and experience with SAN and NAS technologies, storage virtualisation, server consolidation and networked backup and restore facilities
- Capacity management and reporting of storage platforms
- High Level of conceptual, problem solving and analytical skills; Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
- Commitment to high quality service delivery and experience in delivering such service in a demanding environment of competing priorities and finite resources including knowledge of ITIL or other service management methodologies
- Sound understanding & experience of Solaris, RedHat Linux, Windows 2003 & later
