Our client is a successful defence and technology company who are recruiting a Senior Technologies Commercial Manager to that there is a high level of confidence in the successful delivery of contracts. The Senior Commercial Manager is also required to ensure that the contract is managed to optimise the profit/customer satisfaction position and provide responsive and highly effective commercial support. You will have day to day management responsibility of commercial issues covering all aspects of allocated parts of the Applied Technologies Sector's business and therefore impacts on the Sector's budget. Operating in a complex environment of internal and external customers the job holder provides advice and takes decisions on commercial aspects of the business.
Other responsibilities may include:
- Taking profitable deliverable contracts
- Manage the contract to optimise the profit opportunity through the life of the program
- Ensuring all proposals and offers for which the job-holder is responsible are subject to appropriate review process
- Finding ways of taking work which contains inherent risks which through contracting mechanisms can then be managed at a level acceptable to the business
- Maintain contract files and archives for contracts for which the job-holder is responsible
- Develop own skills and capabilities to meet business requirements
As a successful candidate you will ideally have experience and background in varied commercial markets, ideally MOD, and you may or may not be a qualified lawyer.
You may have the ability to analyse information and understand other's perspective. You should have strong business and commercial acumen and good negotiation and influencing skills.
Ideally, you will have a good understanding of English and the ability to write in clear and unambiguous language. Your strengths will lie in problem solving and solution development and have experience of different types of UK and overseas contracts.
