Our client is a leading Financial Services business with a truly global reach, offering corporate and institutional clients the full product suite of financial services.

Due to a number of proactive developments within the organization, the client is now seeking to ramp up its Internal Audit function and hire an Executive Director to further support the European Head of Audit.

The role will centre on assessing the firms corporate governance and its primary objectives are to review the firm's control environment and to perform SOX s.404 controls evaluation/testing on behalf of Group senior management. Moreover, it will manage the overall execution of Regulatory audit work in the European Region, which will include but not be limited to: Managing all aspects of the implications of Basel 2 requirements for Internal Audit and determining the Internal Audit approach in the European Region, managing the planning, execution and reporting of the annual SOX control testing exercise for each fiscal year for the European Region, including managing strict timetables and ensuring quality deliverables.

Moreover this hire will act as a key contact for all SOX and wider project matters relating to testing and evaluation across the European business. Communication will be key in order to face off to a broad range of key stakeholders.

The suitable candidate will hold a Professional qualification. They will have trained with a Practice firm and will have a consistent track record in Audit within the Investment Banking world. Given the size and scope of Sarbanes coverage and Basel 2 coverage it will be important for the hire to demonstrate a strong and robust understanding of these concepts. Moreover, the hire will must demonstrate significant technical understanding of banking products and develop and maintain strong working relationships within the firm.
