Our client is a prestigious global investment bank with a strong presence in the European markets. The firm are seeking an experienced controller providing strategic, project management and operational support to compliance and operational risk to senior management teams. This Vice President will report directly to the Director and be responsible for management of the team. This individual will be responsible for budget management of the area, finance and managing key strategic initiatives.
The individual will be a point contact for key stakeholders across the bank providing operational planning and budgeting to their specific business areas and monitor key variances escalating to COO management when necessary. The opportunity will provide exposure to the non technical aspects of the business and allow the person to fully understand the key drivers within the business. The individual will deal with business queries and issue resolution and tactical solution improvement work. Therefore, a strong professional and commercial mindset will be imperative to succeed in this role.
The successful hire must demonstrate strong experience of budgets and financial control, good commercial acumen and change management. Operational risk and compliance would also be an advantage. Finally, a proactive mindset will be key as well as the ability to interact with a broad range of business stakeholders. The client will consider professionals from a mixed background including those with non banking experience.
