Our client is a Global financial services firm who specialise in asset management, securities, and credit services. They are looking for a commodities master agreement negotiator to join the Institutional Securities Documentation group. The focus of the role will be on commodity-related master trading documentation (including ISDA Agreements, EFET, GTMA, IETA) for a variety of commodity derivative products. This role also involves legal analysis of jurisdictional issues and counterparties’ capacity to undertake commodity trading.
Negotiators are responsible for preparing and negotiating commodity-related master trading documentation and credit support annexes for a diversity of clients, working closely with the Sales & Trading, Credit, Legal, Risk Management and Operations teams. Agreements tend to be heavily negotiated, which will give the successful candidate an insight into a variety of regulatory, legal, credit and risk management issues, and will provide him/her with an excellent learning opportunity.
The successful candidate will ideally be degree educated with a one years experience in a commodity related master trading documentation and/or the commodities markets. You may have knowledge of the commodities industry and will ideally be fluent in additional European languages with strong analytical and problem solving abilities. A good team player with the ability to work independently, and effective negotiation and influencing skills is preferable.
