A leading Hedge Fund is seeking a very talented Head of Operations to join their flagship fund. The right candidate will be a strong leader with an exceptional track record and an ability to think strategically.
Responsibilities
Leadership and strategic
*Lead and develop all operations, to evaluate, anticipate future requirements, and advise in a pro active way to both the Head of the fund and the Head of the division.
*Provide Leadership and set expectations and tone to run an effective team
*Ensuring the correct operating governance and resource infrastructure is in place to enable successful delivery of departmental and business objectives
*Provide a vision and lead change within the operations business model and partner with Technology to deliver a system required to support the Business operation
*Own the relationships with market counterparties, including clearing brokers, and determine the business relationship
*Representation on senior management committees and forums
*Contribute to the determination of the insourcing/ outsourcing strategy in respect of the fund entities
*Track record and demonstrable capability to create vision and execute such visions
*Ensure the core business principles and culture are fostered throughout the business unit.
*To contribute in decision-making and debate outside of Operations e.g. Risk, Trading Strategies.
*To ensure that initiatives create business value to the fund.
Operational
*Manage the control and reporting on, operational business risk
*Manage a robust control environment to support operations
*Manage business risk and providing strategic direction and oversight across Operations
*Be the driver of the technology strategy for operations
*Be responsible for the product related activities (incl cash mgmt) associated with entities
*Provide Metrics/measures and reporting to relevant parties
*Be the primary interface with third parties conducting due diligence on the operational support for the fund
*Improve and implement a succession plan for the team
Requirements
*Qualifications - Degree educated (or past graduate level degree) in a numerate subject. Experience in financial services, with recent roles in managing operations environment.
*Operations experience - managing change, delivering on large scale projects in complex environment
Specific Management Experience - Experience of Operations in a high volume/real-time Trading environment preferably from a Global Investment Bank and experienced in a broad range of listed, liquidity traded Instruments. To have been involved in business areas outside of operations. Strong influencer.
