This well-established, international company is looking for someone to lead their Group Tax and Treasury functions, while working with the external advisors to ensure that compliance requirements are adhered to, and that planning and structuring strategies are robust. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the primary focus of this new role and its key areas of responsibility include:
· Overall responsibility for group tax planning, structuring and compliance matters
· Management of ongoing tax advice surrounding structural and strategic changes
· Provide non-routine tax advice to UK and overseas MDs and FDs in relation to structuring of business transactions to effectively minimise group tax liabilities
· Preparation of year end tax provisions and annual tax computations for the UK statutory accounts
· To ensure production within the appropriate financial controls and timescales of the Corporation Tax returns for the UK tax group, including associated transfer pricing and CFC compliance returns
· To ensure VAT compliance requirements are adhered to and appropriate VAT returns submitted within appropriate timescales and financial controls
· Maintenance of Group Transfer Pricing manual
To be responsible, in conjunction with the Group Financial Controller, for the treasury function as follows:
Co-ordination, reporting and forecasting of UK and group cash forecasts
Short term day-to-day cash management for the UK group companies
Overall control of overseas cash planning and banking facilities
Control of the group's banking facilities and negotiation with the group's lenders in co-ordination with the group Treasury function at ultimate parent company level
Control of the group's fx forward projections and fx dealing
Liaison with the Group Treasury function at ultimate parent group level
To meet these challenges you are likely to be a qualified accountant (ACA and/ or CTA or overseas equivalent) with a strong corporate tax career path within international companies and a solid understanding of tax planning, compliance and strategy. Some exposure to a group treasury function would be beneficial but, more importantly, the successful candidate will have the ability to learn and adapt quickly to a position requiring a high level of financial and technical skills in a complex international group.
The successful candidate will have a proactive, self-starting and hands-on mentality. You must have the experience and technical ability to delegate and deal with outsource providers effectively, at the same time forging good personal relationships both within and outside the group
