Robert Walters have been exclusively retained to appoint a Finance Director for the European operation of Guilford Products. Guilford are a leading global manufacturing group who have achieved significant success winning market share in a challenging economic climate. The business continues to invest in it’s people, it’s operations and it’s systems to ensure that it is positioned to take advantage of the opportunities available in today’s market.

Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with the UK Managing Director you will be responsible for the financial stewardship of four sites in the UK and mainland Europe. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Significant exposure to manufacturing including operating at a senior level
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills
• Process change management, commerciality and business support expertise
• Experience of leading and hands on involvement of an ERP systems implementation
• Solid financial reporting skills including KPI development in a manufacturing environment
• Making business connections and managing relationships with key stakeholders

Our client seeks a qualified accountant who is equally at home working across business functions as ensuring robust financial control and compliance. You will also be a strong character with excellent communication & interpersonal skills who can drive through initiatives. Previous experience of working as part of a large global business and / or matrix environment is desirable along with some exposure to SOX reporting.
