Robert Walters are recruiting an Assistant Cost Accountant on behalf of a midlands based Blue Chip Plc business. In this key role you will support the Lead Cost Accountant in delivering world class performance in cost accounting and reporting capabilities.
As Assistant Cost Accountant your key responsibilities will include:
Production of the detailed figures for costs that are used in the monthly and annual reports.
Identify, investigate and report on variances against budgeted & forecasted income and debt numbers.
Provide financial information and support to line managers and other stakeholders involved in the cost processes.
Contribute to the on-going objective of standardising processes, challenging existing working practices and understanding migrations of work in and out of the team if necessary.
You will have experience of dealing with a high volume of transactions, a number of which can be complex, and you must be able to appreciate the causes and effects of movements in these figures. You will have experience of working on your own initiative to perform initial analysis before escalating, and then supporting the team leader in ensuring that the problem is resolved in a timely manner.
You will be a part qualified accountant, actively studying towards full qualification. An excellent benefits package is offered along with a basic salary up to c.£26k.
