* Demand for talent in Kingdom rises as companies expand operations
* Bangkok office aims to fill the void within the recruitment space for mid to senior level professionals
After a successful recent entry into China and Malaysia, Robert Walters, the global recruitment consultancy, continues its Asian growth strategy by extending its geographical reach with the opening of a new office in Bangkok, Thailand.
Located in the heart of Bangkok, the office will specialise in both permanent and contract recruitment for mid to senior level professionals across the disciplines of accounting & finance, general management, human resources, information technology, and sales & marketing. As well as actively recruiting local talent for local businesses, Robert Walters plans to fully leverage its international client and candidate base and offer opportunities to candidates seeking to work within or return to Thailand.
Like its other offices around the world, Robert Walters Thailand is situated in a prime location -- The Regus Q House Lumpini Centre, Bangkok's newest A-grade building on South Sathorn Road in the Central Business District area.
Commenting on the growth into Thailand, Mark Ellwood, Managing Director said, "Having been established now in Singapore for 10 years, Thailand is the next step in our Southeast Asia expansion after Malaysia. We have many clients with regional offices in Bangkok who struggle to find high quality candidates - we have been asked on many occasions to conduct searches remotely in Bangkok. Now that we are on the ground in Thailand, we will be able to service a wider number of clients and build a local network of candidates."
Sharing his sentiments is Robert Walters Thailand's Country Manager, James Vessey. "Robert Walters is excited to enter the Thai market and hopes to fill the void in the mid to senior level specialist recruitment space. We feel the time and conditions are right to bring our unique style of professional recruitment and industry expertise to Thailand. Leveraging on our global brand presence and international network, Robert Walters Thailand aims to provide the best career opportunities to Thai candidates both locally and internationally."
James Vessey arrived in Thailand over 15 years ago as an exchange student at Chiang Mai University to study Thai language and culture, and has been living and working in the Kingdom ever since. He spent 10 years in sales and marketing within the IT sector before opening his own software resource company. James joined Robert Walters Singapore in March 2006 specialising in the recruitment of senior IT positions, and was offered the opportunity to set up a new office and lead the recruitment business in Thailand.
