My client is looking for a Treasury Accountant of the Balance Sheet Management ("BSM"). The division is responsible for protecting and enhancing the Group’s balance sheet, ensures balance sheet optimisation and portfolio management of credit risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk and capital and funding requirements for the Banking division in the Group. The BSM Finance Department is responsible for the accounting of BSM’s financial activities with a balance sheet in excess of R200 billion and an annual profit exceeding R2 billion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• BSM Finance has a diversified set of portfolios and rotates the accountants between portfolios.
• Initially the key responsibilities will be to learn and cover for several of the portfolios, this will progress into ownership of one of the major portfolios and the role would include the full financial function related to this.
• Monthly reporting and completion of daily tasks of responsible area.
• Involvement and assisting in other areas of department when required and from own initiative.
• Continued professional development.
RELATIONSHIPS
• Develop and maintain relationships within the Balance Sheet Management Division.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the Regulatory reporting "Centre"
• Development of relationships within the Balance Sheet Management Finance department.
• To maintain a relationship with stakeholders and counterparties of assigned portfolios.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
CA (SA)
Prior banking experience / Financial Services Audit Preferable.
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Advanced in the use of Microsoft Excel and Pivots.
