The Group’s sixth annual Global Charity Day saw staff from across Robert Walters, Resource Solutions and Walters People, come together to raise £116,383 for a range of charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), Dress for Success, FEDER, Cotlands, the Capuchin Centre, Kid’s Door, Global Angels and KidsCan.
An innovative approach to fundraising
Each year, staff utilise their creativity and talent to come up with innovative ways to raise funds for their chosen charities. This year, the introduction of selfie boards meant that many offices took the opportunity to fundraise through fancy dress. In London, members of staff collected donations dressed as GOSH’s mascot, Bernard the bear. In Spain, Walters People staff sported matching ‘Where’s Wally?’ outfits, while our Johannesburg team implemented a spooky Friday the 13th theme into their dress code.
Other fundraising activities included; chicken nugget eating challenges, baking competitions, treadmill duathlons, body painting and two members of staff took part in a sponsored cycle around London over the course of one day. One staff member took on a solo 100km triathlon and the director of our New Zealand business shaved his head. While staff in our Hong Kong office took part in a pie face competition and our team in Taiwan participated in a toy sewing project.
Giles Daubeney, Deputy CEO of Robert Walters Group, commented:
“I’m delighted that we have yet again set a new fundraising record in 2017. This is a huge achievement and is testament to our staff’s dedication to give back to their local communities. Each year, I am amazed by the effort and imagination our staff devote to their fundraising activities, and I look forward to seeing what next year will bring.”
